Our enrollment process is somewhat unique.
We’ve refined it several times, and we think what we’ve come to now is ideal for our current situation.
Step 1: We have a contact form on our website. We do have a phone number, and an email address listed, but if families have researched their childcare options and are interested in ours, they will use our contact form.
Our contact form only asks a few simple questions:
- Child’s name, birthday and gender
- Requested schedule – days and times
- Requested start date
- Any additional Family Information
When we receive a contact email, we review the request, consider whether we can currently or in the future accomodate the schedule, and then usually respond with a link to our childcare application, which is a downloadable google doc with a specific link. If we don’t think we will be able to accomodate the schedule until much later, we will offer families the option to be on our ‘Priority Email List.’
Priority Email List:
This is something we do differently than other daycares. We aren’t interested in a wait list. We don’t and won’t accept just any family that applies. So we offer the choice to be on our Priority Email List – which is a google doc of families’ email addresses that are interested in applying when a position opens.
We keep track of their email, the child’s age, and their requested schedule, and when we have an opening that may suit them (or any opening at all), we email these people before opening the position to the public. They can submit applications at the time of our email and we can often fill the position simply from this list.
You can find our Enrollment Process Step Two here, and our Childcare Application here.
PROVIDER TIP: Wait lists are great – and can be super helpful! But we recommend always interviewing before enrolling AND waiting to interview until a space is open. Many people that *really* want in your daycare will need to enroll somewhere and may not want to switch!
